This week, we announced new findings about the scope and impact of the nationโs developing trail networks. Hereโs what our analysis found:
1๏ธโฃ There are more than 150 known trail networks nationwide, including at least one in every state, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
2๏ธโฃ Approximately half of the people in the United States live in a county that is home to a developing trail network.
3๏ธโฃ Of those counties, 74% are majority suburban/urban and 26% are majority rural populations.
Thank you to WOSU Public Media for partnering with us to host the live broadcast of the announcement at your studio in Columbus, Ohio, as well as William Murdock, executive director at Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), and Melodie Mendez, New York and Northeast regional coordinator at Latino Outdoors, for being a part of our panel discussion!
