π Employee Spotlight Series π
If you saw our last post, duh of course you did π, then you’ve already seen our next feature employee, Gary! With a solid 3 months under his belt, Gary is one of our outstanding Dock Attendants at SMJ. Originally from Lower Township, Gary attended Lower Cape May Regional High School and pursued his passion for Business Management at Glassboro State, now known as Rowan University.
So why did Gary choose to work at SMJ? Well, it was all about Dock Master, Chris Booth. From the moment Gary met him, he knew that working under Chris’s guidance would be a fantastic experience. And as it turns out, Gary was absolutely right! π Working around boats, boat enthusiasts, and our amazing Marina crew is what Gary enjoys most about his job. And while he’s already created numerous memorable experiences here, it’s the short chats with those traveling up and down the coast from various backgrounds and hearing their stories enriches his experience at SMJ. π€βοΈ
When Gary isn’t busy at the marina, you’ll likely find him indulging in one of his favorite pastimes: fishing in his 26′ Twin Vee boat! And a few additional interesting tidbits? In a previous job, Gary worked as a mate on the F/V Dyrsten, a remarkable 160′ freezer trawler, where he caught squid, mackerel, butterfish, and occasionally stumbled upon the exciting bycatch of swordfish and tuna. AND, since joining our team, Gary was thrilled to share that he’s embraced a healthier lifestyle by incorporating plenty of walking into his routineπΆ, shedding an impressive 17 pounds. π₯³ Congratulations Gary!
We are fortunate to have you on our team, showcasing your dedication to the role and your passion for the marina lifestyle. Stay tuned for more employee spotlights, as we continue to celebrate the incredible employees!
