A featured star of the Buena Vista Social Club during the 1990s (her duets with Ibrahim Ferrer were highlights of their first Stateside tour), 92-year-old Havana-born singer and dancer Omara Portuondo is a bona fide legend. While the Buena Vista Social Club reinvigorated her career, the grand dame of classic Cuban song is a multiple Latin Grammy winner and has continued to record prolifically and tour the world over the past 20 years. Her latest album is 2023’s Vida, a milestone in the legendary singer’s career.
