Mark your calendars, everyone! Next Wednesday, June 19, is the second program in Avalon’s new Beachside Science at Surfside Park series, and it’s all about our favorite reptile!
Come meet and learn all about an important species to the local habitat- the Northern Diamondback Terrapin. For this lecture, we’ll discuss the life history of the Northern Diamondback Terrapin, the dangers they face, and the research and conservation efforts we make to protect them. But most importantly you’ll learn the answer to the age-old question- why does the turtle cross the road? Please join us for “A Diamond in the Dunes – The Northern Diamondback Terrapin”.
This free program series – co-sponsored by the Avalon Environmental Commission and Avalon Free Public Library and presented by The Wetlands Institute – takes place at Avalon’s Surfside Park, 30th Street and the beach in Avalon on the third Wednesdays of the month from May – September, 2021, at 6:00pm.
