Can you say, harmlesssssssss?? Well, to humans at least!

Check out this black racer’s forked tongue, which captures scent particles in the air, helping the snake avoid danger, find a mate, and hunt prey! This subspecies of an eastern racer is an exsssssssellent rodent control expert.

Video description: A black snake flicks its tongue repeatedly while looking straight ahead. As the camera zooms out, we see it is lying in the grass under several small trees. Video credit: Holly Keepers/USFWS
