In the first full year of Ferry Operations (excluding the last six months of 1964) that concluded in December 1965, traffic engineers had projected 200,000 vehicles and 377,000 passengers embarking on the Cape May Lewes Ferry in 1965. However, by the end of that year, the actual numbers read that we welcomed 161,000 vehicles and 542,000 passengers aboard our ferry.
