Did you know that during WWII, there were German POWs in Cape May County? They assisted in clearing standing water and functioned as an early Mosquito Commission. The German POW Camp was located in what is now the Cape May County Mosquito Commission on Rt. 47. Remarkably, some of the buildings they resided in are still standing today!
