During the Covid days, we quickly became known for being totally upfront and transparent – well, time to be transparent again. Last night we experienced what our insurance company would call an “Act of God” – an unanticipated event for which no human is responsible. A transformer three blocks away exploded, causing a power surge and brown-out here at the restaurant. This affected our computer systems, but more importantly, it took out our high voltage cooking, warming and dishwashing equipment.

In an abundance of caution, we made the decision to suspend food service to maintain food safety. Being that this happened at the height of dinner service, it couldn’t have happened at a worse time. We are aware we disappointed a lot of our customers. It was a very difficult decision to make, but it was the right decision. Food safety must never be compromised – and here at Harpoons it never is! Today we are back up and running 100% and we hope to see you again!

Have a safe and happy Independence Day!
