We just heard from our friend at Aves Uruguay that Blanquito – the leucistic Semipalmated Plover who visits us every August – is back safe and sound at his regular winter home in Maldonado, Uruguay. This makes the fifth winter in a row they’ve spotted him there. In another few months, he’ll be on his way back north, and with luck we’ll see him in Stone Harbor again! (This photo is from last August here at The Wetlands Institute)
