Eyes on the Marsh: Project partners of the Seven Mile Island Innovation Lab met at The Wetlands Institute last week to share goals and priorities with new USACE Philadelphia District Commander LTC Jeffrey Beeman. The Innovation Lab is a unique partnership between the Philadelphia District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the State of New Jersey, and The Wetlands Institute. Through innovative research, collaboration, and practical application, partners have advanced dredging and beneficial use practices in coastal New Jersey and nationally; enhanced more than 85 acres of marsh; and beneficially used more than 150,000 cubic yards of sediment. The work continues!
