Happy 15th Birthday, Ariel! 🥳🦦
Ariel is a North American river otter, a species native to waterways throughout the US and Canada. They are semi-aquatic and have many adaptations for survival in the water, like webbed feet and streamlined bodies. They also have incredibly dense fur that allows them to thrive in cold winter temperatures. Ariel arrived at the zoo last February and loves rolling in the sand, swimming on her back, and training with her keepers!
