Happy 18th Birthday, Billie Jean! 🥳
Billie Jean is an Andean bear and arrived last May from the National Zoo. Andean bears are also known as Spectacled bears due to the tan markings on their faces. They are South America’s only bear species and are also the most arboreal of the bears. Billie Jean loves honey, grapes, and nuts. She spends time daily perfecting her nest by weaving leaves and paper products into her hay pile!
