Happy 6th Birthday, Makari! 🥳

Makari is a red-necked wallaby, a marsupial native to southeastern Australia and Tasmania. As you can see in the photo, Makari has a joey in her pouch! This is her fourth joey and she is a great mum! She is one of the more skittish members of the wallaby mob, and she likes to keep a little distance between herself and her human friends. She’s an all-star at social distancing! Her favorite enrichment is when keepers rearrange the furniture in the yard. She’ll hop around and explore all the changes!
