Happy 9th Birthday, Budette! 🥳
Budette is the mama capybara of our herd. Capybaras are the world’s LARGEST rodent and Budette currently weighs in at 118lbs! Capybaras are semi-aquatic, with adaptations like coarse hair that dries quickly and webbed feet for swimming. Their eyes, ears, and nostrils are near the top of their heads so they can hide from predators by being mostly submerged in the water. Budette loves naps in the sun and will push her kids out of the way to get to her bamboo! 🌿
