Happy Crow and Raven Appreciation Day! 🎉
Crows and ravens are members of the corvid family. They are highly intelligent – able to recognize human faces and use tools. Ravens are about twice the size of crows and make a croaking sound (as opposed to the “caw” sound made by crows). Loki is a fish crow who currently resides at the zoo in an off-exhibit area. He has lived at the zoo since 2012 and spent most of that time in the World of Birds foyer with his buddy, Blue. Loki’s favorite activity is tearing up paper toys!
