Happy International Cheetah Day! 🎉

Today we are celebrating the world’s fastest land animal. These cats are designed for speed, including a slender body, a tail that acts as a rudder for quick turns, and semi-retractable claws that act like cleats. These sprinters can run up to 70mph, but only for short spurts. There are two 12-year-old cheetah brothers at the zoo, Beenie and Buju. They have access to their yard during zoo hours year-round, so you’ll likely spot them on your next zoo visit!
