Happy Reptile and Amphibian Awareness Day! 🎉

Many reptile and amphibian species are threatened with extinction, like the endangered Chinese crocodile lizard. These colorful lizards are native to subtropical China and Vietnam. They are sexually dimorphic, which means males and females look different. Males tend to be larger and redder, like “Big Red” pictured here. These lizards are threatened by deforestation and the pet trade.

Stop by the Reptile House to see other endangered reptiles and amphibians! We are open daily, 10am – 4:30pm.
