Happy SSSSSerpent Day! 🐍

Hi, I’m a mottled rock rattlesnake, one of 13 species of snake you can visit at the Reptile House. Snakes are ectothermic, which means we can’t produce our own heat and rely on the environment to regulate our body temperature. For that reason, we are usually found in warm climates. Mottled rock rattlesnakes are native to the southwestern US and Mexico. We are venomous, which is how we get our supper!
