Happy Ungulate Awareness Day! π¦π¦ππ¦ππ«π¦
What’s an ungulate? It’s a group of animals consisting mainly of large, hooved mammals. Many of the zoo animals are ungulates, including giraffes, zebra, cattle, goats, camels, and alpacas. The term comes from the Latin word meaning “hooved.” Although most ungulates are hooved mammals, did you know that this group also includes whales and dolphins?? Talk about a strange family gathering!
