Happy World Lizard Day! 🦎🎉
Let’s give a shout-out to all the awesome lizards at the Zoo! We have 12 individuals representing 7 different species. Lizards can come in many different sizes and shapes to fit their ecological needs. They range from our largest (Scarlet, a Rhino Iguana who is 5.35 Kg), to our smallest (Phel, the Standing’s Day Gecko who is just 53g), from the one that has been here the longest (Dusty, our Mexican Beaded Lizard who has been here since 1999.), to our newest member of the reptile family (Che, the Argentine Black & White Tegu who just joined us this past June). There are many wonderful different kinds of lizards out in the world. Check out our stories to see more of the lizards at the Zoo!
