Happy World Otter Day!

May 29, 2024 | Cape May County Zoo

Happy World Otter Day! 🎉

There are 13 species of otter and all are either semi-aquatic or marine. They are part of the Mustelid family and are related to badgers, weasels, and wolverines. At the zoo, we have two North American river otters, Ariel and Mork. This species is a New Jersey native and can be spotted in our local waterways! Many species of otters are endangered. Learn more about otter conservation at https://www.otter.org/!
