Happy World Turtle Day! ๐Ÿข๐ŸŽ‰

Hi, I’m Chunk, an African helmeted turtle, a freshwater species native to sub-Saharan Africa. All turtles have shells, but they differ in appearance. My shell is pretty flat because my species is semi-aquatic and having a flatter shell helps me move faster through the water. Turtles are also all ectothermic (also known as cold-blooded), which means that our environment regulates our internal temperature. Turtles don’t always get a lot of love, but I think I’m pretty cute and I always have a smile on my face! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜…
