Happy Zebra Day! 🦓🎉

There are three species of zebra – Grevy’s, mountain, and plains, all native to sub-Saharan Africa. Zebras are known for their stripes, which are unique to each individual. Studies have shown that their stripes help protect them from insect bites! At the zoo, you’ll find our herd of Grant’s zebras, which is a subspecies of plains zebras. They have access to their yard year-round and are very temperature tolerant, so you are likely to see them on your zoo visit!

We are open daily with winter hours, 10am – 3:30pm.
