Happy Zookeeper Week: Meet our Savanna Team! 🦒🦓
Our team cares for the giraffes, zebras, Watusi cattle, oryx, and ostriches. We take care of the largest animals, barns, and yards in the zoo! It’s a lot of work but very rewarding. We are up on ladders a lot in order to take care of some tall animals! We use gators to get around the big yards and are experts at stacking and hauling hay. We are outside in a lot of extreme weather with not many trees to protect us from the wind, sun, snow, and rain. We also have to get a bit creative with training and enrichment since all the animals stay on the other side of a fence!
