Here is something rather interesting you may have missed on your visit. In 1943, Engineer Charles A. Poekel while working at the Propeller Division of Curtiss-Wright Aeronautics invented an anti-icing means for aircraft propellers which became an industry standard for de-icing aircraft propellers.
Mr. Poekel did many other great things during his life such as designing a lighting system for Florida Field (home of the Florida Gators) and even designing equipment that was used to develop the first hydrogen bomb!
