Hi, it's Beenie!

Aug 28, 2024 | Cape May County Zoo

Hi, it’s Beenie! Just popping on our social media to tell you that guests often think I’m a leopard, but I’m a cheetah! Since this is a common mistake, I figured I’d help you out a bit. First off, you can tell I’m a cheetah because I have solid spots instead of rosettes. Also, since I’m diurnal (that means I hunt mostly during the daytime), I’m equipped with some black lines on my face to help reduce glare. You’ll see that football players use my technique, too!
