After a decade of anticipation, two trails are banding together to debut their new fully-connected experience: Iowa’s High Trestle Trail and Raccoon River Valley Trail!
The new extension will create an interrupted way to walk and ride between the towns the trails connect, delivering opportunities to get around, be active and enjoy the outdoors, and benefit the local economy. Plus, it will help advance the completion of the route of the Great American Rail-Trail.
The High Trestle Trail and Raccoon River Valley Trail Connection Ride to Ribbon Cutting is planned on Aug. 17, so get your shoes and bikes and rounds of applause ready to celebrate!
In pastoral west-central Iowa, the Raccoon River Valley Trail has won this year’s blue-ribbon prize: entrance into the Rail-Trail Hall of Fame.
