Join The Wetlands Institute for a hands-on opportunity to participate in the Delaware Bay-wide horseshoe crab spawning survey program and learn more about these unique creatures and the spawning phenomenon that takes place here every spring. Surveys are held on Villas Beach, NJ, about 20 minutes from The Wetlands Institute. Each survey covers 1 km of beach (walked in both directions, for 2 km of walking total) and takes approximately 3 hours start to finish. The entire event takes place outdoors. Participants will be walking in sand and water, and should be prepared with weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes or knee boots that can get wet, and a flashlight or headlamp.

For more information and to register for a survey see the link below. Each event is capped at 6 participants. Note: we will have to cancel if thunderstorms are forecast.
