Just 130 miles off the coast of Cape Cod lies one of our country’s greatest marine treasures: The Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument. The first and only marine monument in the Atlantic Ocean, it’s renowned for its largely pristine deep marine ecosystems and remarkable biodiversity, including rare deep-sea corals, endangered whales and sea turtles, and a plethora of fish and other species.
Today, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have released the final management plan guiding how this unique ecosystem will be conserved. Learn more about the wonders of the deep at https://ow.ly/NM8S50S8IE7
