NAS Wildwood was commissioned on April 1st, 1943. By the end of WWII, the base experienced over 130 crashes on and around the base. Tragically, this resulted in the loss of 42 naval aviators.

Today NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum’s mission is to educate the public about the rich history of NAS Wildwood, honor the memory of these fallen 42 men, and restore historic Hangar #1.
