Lichen is nature’s true partnership, a symbiotic relationship between algae and fungus. It’s eaten by squirrels, deer, and grouse and birds like chickadees and hummingbirds often use lichen to line their nests! Some species of lichen can even be an indicator good of air quality, as they are sensitive to pollutants in the air, rain, and dust. #AQAW2021 http://ow.ly/dKkY50EFpBa
