Since 2019, the partners of the Seven Mile Island Innovation Lab (SMIIL) – the Philadelphia District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and The Wetlands Institute – have been designing and deploying groundbreaking solutions to counter marsh loss and increase resilience in the face of rising seas.
