Today, our friends at REI introduced Outside in 5, a multiyear initiative to ensure that every American has immediate access to outdoor spaces.This community-led initiative was launched in Anacostia Park in Washington, D.C.—where the community, despite the national park, has experienced limited access to green space—and it supports local projects and national legislation in pursuit of REI’s goal of getting 100 million people outside in five minutes or less, no matter where they live.
We know that trails, like the Anacostia River Trail, expand access to the outdoors and help better connect communities. We hope you will join us in supporting Outside in 5 so that everyone will have more access and opportunities to #OptOutside.
