The Wonderful World of Frogs – A Video Series from Cape May Point State Park
Featuring the staff and froggy crew at CMPSP
Join us over the next few weeks as we virtually celebrate frogs and their wet worlds with you. Learn where they live, why they live there, and their place in our environment. We will talk a little about the current plight of frogs around the world and what we can do to help these tiny, ancient creatures. Of course, we would much rather welcome you in person on our usual froggy night-hikes, but for now, video will have to suffice!
Ancient? Yes! Frogs have been on our planet since before the time of the dinosaurs, yet many scientists are concerned that they won’t survive us. Every spring, the wetlands seem a little quieter than the last. Our naturalist, Matt, is concerned he hasn’t heard a wood frog this spring yet. He is an optimist, though and firmly believes that people can fix things! Matt wants to see future generations of children playing in muddy puddles and marvelling at tiny tadpoles. He had lots of pet frogs growing up; they were all called “Frank” 😊
And please remember, most frogs just ask for a puddle of clean water and some bugs. I’m sure we can provide that!
