Today is the final day of our BioBlitz! As you explore nature today, remember that you are not just an observer but a participant in the grand symphony of life. One way we are connected to nature is through the food web. The food web is a way to conceptualize what species eat and the relationships between species. Some superstar members of the food web are primary producers. Primary producers are plants and phytoplankton that take the energy from the sun and convert it into usable energy. This fuels the whole food web. Other important members of the food web are scavengers. Scavengers are species that eat dead animals and recycle nutrients back into the web. Today’s challenge is to submit a photo of a scavenger! Although it is the final day of the BioBlitz it is not too late to join!
