Tonight at 6:00pm is the fourth program in Avalon's Beachside Science at Surfside Park series, and we're meeting back at Surfsid… | Things to Do in Cape May NJ

Tonight at 6:00pm is the fourth program in Avalon’s Beachside Science at Surfside Park series, and we’re meeting back at Surfside Park for “Where Did That Seashell Come From? The Unsung Heroes of Our Beaches”.

Beachcombing and shell collecting are some of the most popular beach pastimes. But have you ever stopped to think about where that seashell came from? For this lecture, we will discuss what exactly makes those seashells and how they get made, and you’ll meet the living versions of them!

This free program series – co-sponsored by the Avalon Environmental Commission and Avalon Free Public Library and presented by The Wetlands Institute – takes place on the third Wednesdays of the month from May – September, 2021, at 6:00pm.
