Flowing from the Catskill Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean, the Delaware River is the heart of the four-state region comprising New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The river and its 2,000 tributaries connect cities, towns, farms, forests, mountains, marshes, beaches, and the millions of people who live, work, and play here.
But keeping this watershed intact for future generations of people and wildlife in the face of threats like climate change requires that we act strategically today. That’s why the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s launched the Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund in 2018 to focus conservation in four key areas: reducing flooding and runoff, restoring fish and wildlife habitats, improving water quality, and enhancing safe recreational access for the public.
Hear from grantees about how the Fund supports projects that address conservation needs today, and tomorrow.
