Welcome to the Highlands Region

Jun 21, 2024 | Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

People protect the places they love, and today we’re sharing our love of the Highlands region with you!

The Highlands region spans 3.4 million acres through Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The landscape is home to diverse wildlife and secures clean drinking water for one of the most populated areas in the country.

Conserving natural resources within the Highlands landscape is no small feat. A big thanks to the Highlands Conservation Act, through the Service’s Office of Conservation Investment, and our dedicated partners who work to protect our wildlife, watersheds, farmlands and forests for future generations!
