What did the salt marsh say to the rising ocean? Sea ya!

At Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge and all along the Atlantic Coast, rising seas are creeping up on salt marshes, gradually putting them underwater.

That’s why Refuge Manager Karl Stromayer is working with partners to acquire marshes with room to migrate. Those that have meadows or hayfields, or even forests, behind them can move inland and continue to offer benefits to wildlife and people.
