What do you call a group of tree swallows? A flight, a gulp, a swoop or a stand?? Whatever name they go by, we can agree their dazzling displays are a sight to behold!
Many national wildlife refuges serve as important sites for birds to fuel up before their long migrations. Recently, large stands of tree swallows at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge Complex in MA have been filling up on insects and berries before continuing on to warmer locations. At sunset, the swoops of swallows can reach numbers in the thousands! 📸USFWS
